What is 1st Cup?
I’m Michael the founder of 1st Cup, a ministry dedicated to the service of our Lord Jesus Christ. Of utmost importance is serving as the Lord would have me serve. How do I know what the Lord would have me do? Prayer. Lots and lots of prayer. Even then I may err. It is my belief that first and foremost 1st Cup is to spread the good news of Jesus. That is a command for everyone, so this one I know I hit on the head.
The 1st Cup website is a base, our headquarters if you will, to grow the Kingdom of God through scripture, articles, videos, and audio. In addition, 1st Cup can provide ministries with available media support services such as video and audio, and more depending on the situation, our expertise, and location.
Is 1st Cup A Non-Profit Ministry?
1st Cup is not a non-profit, neither is it for profit. 1st Cup is funded totally out of my own personal pocket. I do not ask for donations, but if someone wanted to show financial support it wouldn’t be turned down.
The ministry support services available are free. Ministries that utilize these services are free to send a gratuity if they feel one is deserved.
Over time this may change, I don’t know. The CPA’s will tell me. For now, though it is what it is, a non, non-profit and a not for profit ministry in progress.
Our Story…
Nothing special to see here, keep the line moving. Ok, here’s a brief summation but for the big story you can read Michael’s Testimony (when published). Always feeling called to do something, I have attempted several things in the past (websites, blogs, syndicated radio programs, internet radio stations…) as well as becoming more involved with my home church. Then triple bypass at 58. Third heart attack. I believe that God has gifted me a few extra years. I don’t believe this gift was without a purpose.
Why the Name 1st Cup?
No particular reason. Just seemed to fit. I’ve always been a coffee drinker and the first thing a coffee drinker, well me anyway, looks forward to in the morning is their first cup of joe. For you it might be tea, milk, water, OJ, or whatever you enjoy in your cup first thing in the morning. Point is, we all desire that 1st Cup of something. Be pretty cool if Jesus was that 1st Cup.
What Denomination Is 1st Cup?
None. The proper term is non-denominational but even that term seems to conjure up thoughts in one’s mind when spoken, so let’s stick with none. 1st Cup is 100% Holy Bible… Old and New Testament. The Old and the New go together, can’t separate them. Without the Old there is no New and without the New there is no 1st Cup.
Does 1st Cup Have All the Answers?
Nope. We’ll be honest about that too. Not going to make something up to tickle your ears (or brain). The answers we do have we’ll back up and defend. The answers we don’t have we’ll tell you and provide our best thoughts on the subject.
In this answer I’m using the term “we” as if there is more than one person involved with 1st Cup. I’m using the term we as a collective term that includes myself, 1st Cup, users of the site, and those that choose to participate.
Looks Like 1st Cup Is A Brand-New Site, When Will It Be Finished?
Not in the foreseeable future, but sooner than one might think. As I write these words the date is February 19th, 2019. The domain was just registered this morning. Currently waiting on the host server to propagate the domain so that the SSL certificate can be added. Once added, site construction will begin. The bones of the site will be completed within a week or two, my hope is the site is never finished, at least until Christ takes us home. Even then, I hope the site is still available for those that missed the bus.
Is 1st Cup Going to Be One of Those Sites That Bash People They Disagree With?
Not bash. May call some out not because I disagree or have and opinion, but because their doctrine is way off base according to the Bible on that particular subject.
